THIS IS IMPORTANT! Australia is burning. It is catastrophic! As far as we are aware the most we can do right now is hope for rain. It’s only the beginning of our summer. 500 MILLION wildlife have been killed (including 1/3 of the Koala population), thousands of homes burnt to the ground and lives lost. We are sending our love and prayers to everyone affected and can’t thank the amazing firefighters and volunteers enough for their hard work. So please see how you can help from these links & we urge you to donate anything you can: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au http://www.givit.org.au https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/supporting-cfa#donate-cfa https://www.wires.org.au https://www.redcross.org.au And please read what a friend so brilliantly said about how we can all help in our small way to *preserve our planet*. IT IS TIME! These fires have triggered a lot of mixed emotions about where we are headed as a human race and how we can successfully cultivate change in our lives and communities, which is essential if we are to preserve our beautiful planet and all that inhabit it. I have read so much about the do’s and dont’s. There is no magic wand where life on earth can be miraculously altered for the better. Instead, there is only perseverance from us all and a willingness to be better at looking after the planet. To always try and do the right thing by the planet. To find ways for us to eat less meat, take the bus, turn off the tap whilst brushing your teeth, use a reusable shopping bag, buy a keep-cup for your coffee and try to eat from local producers even if it costs a bit more. Make the sacrifice and know you are doing your bit, however small. We are all unconscious of our fixed routines and habits which have likely been forged by previous generations and experiences. But life has changed dramatically since then and there is no excuse not to be conscious of the consequences of our actions. Let’s work on this and educate ourselves for a better planet for a future for the next generation and for the survival of all things living. We have an opportunity to teach and forge new routines, let’s figure out what they are and look forward with hope and health.
